During my previous career, I spent 30 successful years of my responsibility in leadership positions combined 23 years in management of government resources, 22 years in strategic planning, and more than 20 years of business planning. My experience and success has been supported by a significant amount of learning and teaching in each of these areas up to and including postgraduate and executive level. During my early career can be very different to my current career in real estate, most of my training and experience directly applies to this new project. For many years I realized that the more I learned in my life and my career, there was more to learn. As I learn throughout North America and traveled overseas, I increasingly recognized as it was about other people, cultures and places. Much of this increased awareness and appreciation was gained through interaction with many thousands of people from the working level up to and including the highest levels of government and industry. Through these interactions, it became increasingly clear that there is little consensus on what I have as well some basics – planning, leadership, management and strategic and tactical strategy and tactics.
